a faded smile,
my casual guile
swept over the winds below.
turbulent storm,
my boat's weathered and worn
and ready for home.
fraudulent miracles,
enchanting sphericals,
parted lips so hungry for empty.
the green veneer of a shallow tale,
a twisted girl bound to fail,
some facts a new name won't change
a handful of sand or a handful of stars,
live on the beach or fly to mars-
much too many choices for comfort.
a phantom phonecall almost breaks the line.
love's just a wonderful waste of time,
and addiction's my saving penance.
how easy it is to become dissatisfied with all you have when you're presented with the allure of a gleaming new change.
