the message
beading down the foggy window
collecting, pooling
as cold as the wintry air
on this typical lonely night i'm driving
trees blowing in the wind as if saying goodbye.
the sun wouldn't solve any problems
melt the longing to the ground
disappearing in the haze for more days
than i knew, or would know
and taking with it some dignity, some self respect.
aching, as if i could grasp it,
such grimy hands clutching at my throbbing chest
only the seasons change.
down the hallway lay a million pieces
just how much will i take?
the pitter-patter drowned in clouds
threatening to kill all i've sown
my deepest fear, a ball and chain.
will my white rabbit ever return?
time takes things only to bring them 'round again,
perhaps i only need to count the kisses
and let the truth be carried in the breeze...
